Camp Descriptions:

Forest Course Tuesdays & Thursdays K-1st, Sep 15/Oct 22, Grades K-1st

  • Encouraging curiosity about nature and an appreciation of God’s creation, the Forest Course is designed to get kids exploring outdoors! Led by Solid Rock staff, kids will learn about forest ecology through exploration, observation, and play. The Forest Course seeks to build connection, resilience, outdoor skills and nature knowledge, as well as encouraging each child to learn about the character of God.

Classes are twice a week for 2.5 hours. The session runs for 6 weeks. Topics such Seeds & Berries, Autumn Leaves, and Fire in the Forest focus specifically on the Kenai Peninsula seasons, species, and dynamics. Kids also learn about the attributes of God the Creator through Bible verses and songs. The classes are a combination of hands-on learning, games, and art.

Please send your children dressed warmly and with a waterproof outer layer. Children must be able to use the bathroom unassisted. Kids need to bring their own water bottles. A further list of Things to Bring will be emailed to you after registration.

Solid Rock is an approved vendor for IDEA and Connections homeschool programs. However, it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure the funds are available and that the Forest Course is approved for their child. The parent is responsible to any amount that their homeschool program doesn’t cover.

Please Note: When registering, do not add any "Snackshop Money" as a small snack will be provided. You may select $0 on the registration form if IDEA or Connections will be paying. Posted price includes $40 supply bag.
